We now have a fabulous new breakfast place right in the middle of The Woodlands at East Shore. To be fair, they also serve lunch. I’m so addicted to their biscuits that I’ve never ordered anything off their lunch menu! I’m in love with their biscuits with a side of gravy. They get extra credit from me because they have excellent decaf coffee too. They have a slew of espresso drinks as well as beer, wine, several flavors of Mimosas, bloody Mary’s, and a few other brunch favorites. Their omelettes are historic — four eggs combined with any number of tasty extras. My favorite is the Golden Gate —stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, and feta cheese. The cowboy scramble is a decadent dish of two buttermilk biscuits covered with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, three scrambled eggs and country sausage gravy. That’s a large amount of food considering you MUST order the churro style donuts to start. They are an amazing puffy donut with a caramel dipping sauce. The waffles, pancakes and french toast are also hearty sized servings. They have some healthy choices as well. The oatmeal comes with blueberries as a choice which makes it perfect. Lunch favorites include sandwiches and salads and soups. The turkey reuben is very popular. The junkyard fries are served with homemade chili, quest and jalapeños, making them a perfect hearty side dish. The strawberry field salad is delicious and has feta, strawberries, chicken, and pecans. The blackberry vinaigrette is perfect for this salad. The salmon salad is also light, delicious, and nutritious. The Toasted Yolk is a great addition to The Woodlands.

Killen’s Steakhouse is a fantastic addition to The Woodlands. To have the pedigree of Ronnie Killen as a chef and restauranteur here is a great asset to our area. He graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in London first in his class and with the Honor of Distinction. This is the same institute that trained Julia Child. And this chef knows his way around fine dining as well as barbecue, burgers, and tacos. Killen’s Steakhouse has a variety of USDA Prime beef, Japanese Wagyu and Gulf Coast seafood. One of the most popular options is the Texas Wagyu. They have wet aged and dry aged steaks to choose from. They even have a sirloin flight with four different pedigrees of meat. I always order a filet and it is fantastic here. It is one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband loves the dry aged ribeye. They have quality beef and prepare it expertly. Actually, the very best thing on their menu is the macaroni and cheese. I’m a bit of a nut about mac n cheese and theirs is fantastic. No matter which of his restaurants I go to, I always order it. Comfort food at its best, It’s like the best hug from your best grandmother, in a bowl. The brussels sprouts are also amazing, causing people who don’t even normally like them to fight over the last few. My favorite appetizers are the smoked crab cocktail with homemade potato chips and the Korean BBQ wagyu skewers. The Gulf snapper is a great non steak entree as well as the beautifully prepared fried shrimp. Their wine list will please all budgets and levels of wine expertise and enthusiasm. Rounding out the menu are some very worthy desserts such as the Creme Brûlée bread pudding and a decadent chocolate truffle cheesecake. The after dinner cocktail menu is divine if that is where the night takes you.
