The Toasted Yolk

We now have a fabulous new breakfast place right in the middle of The Woodlands at East Shore.  To be fair, they also serve lunch.  I’m so addicted to their biscuits that I’ve never ordered anything off their lunch menu!  I’m in love with their biscuits with a side of gravy.  They get extra credit from me because they have excellent decaf coffee too.  They have a slew of espresso drinks as well as beer, wine, several flavors of Mimosas, bloody Mary’s, and a few other brunch favorites.   Their omelettes are historic — four eggs combined with any number of tasty extras.  My favorite is the Golden Gate —stuffed with spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, and feta cheese.  The cowboy scramble is a decadent dish of two buttermilk biscuits covered with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, three scrambled eggs and country sausage gravy.  That’s a large amount of food considering you MUST order the churro style donuts to start. They are an amazing puffy donut with a caramel dipping sauce. The waffles, pancakes and french toast are also hearty sized servings. They have some healthy choices as well.  The oatmeal comes with blueberries as a choice which makes it perfect.  Lunch favorites include sandwiches and salads and soups.  The turkey reuben is very popular.  The junkyard fries are served with homemade chili, quest and jalapeños, making them a perfect hearty side dish. The strawberry field salad is delicious and has feta, strawberries, chicken, and pecans.  The blackberry vinaigrette is perfect for this salad.  The salmon salad is also light, delicious, and nutritious.  The Toasted Yolk is a great addition to The Woodlands.
