Craft Grill

Craft Grill is a relatively new restaurant just south of The Woodlands on Kuykendahl. I like the vibe of this place. It is a family-friendly restaurant that also works for adults. For adults, It has a great bar and a unique cocktail menu. Their cilantrorita (margarita with cilantro) is addicting. For beer lovers, they have a tap wall with 30 beers to choose from. I’m really in love with their appetizer menu. I cannot resist their pretzels. Two to an order, they are huge and pillowy and served with a great queso accompaniment. The pulled pork nachos are another favorite. Most of the cooked from scratch main dishes are served with a vegetable and you get to pick another side. So far my favorite side is the hush puppies. They remind me of home in Louisiana and I swear they are my mother’s recipe! They have a little kick and are savory instead of sweet. I’m also a big fan of their catfish. Lightly dusted in cornmeal and fried to perfection, they also remind me of home. I suspect the real reason I enjoy Craft Grill is their fried apple pie for dessert. On a recent trip with a group of 6, everyone was full after their big servings, but we ordered one to share. We were fighting over it and ended up ordering a second one! If you are a fan of good Southern cooking, Craft Grill should be on your list.
