Never has there been more anticipation at the opening of a Woodlands restaurant than with Truluck’s. Truluck’s is one of those restaurants that warrants driving into the Galleria area of Houston for dinner, and now we only have to drive to Hughes Landing. It is a beautiful space and location. I like the fact that they have a dress code and the atmosphere is a bit more chic. The restaurant and bar overlooks the lake and has amazing views from every table. The lit amber bar is beautiful and has excellent social hour specials, all serenaded by a piano player. Those Ipso Facto gin martini’s are hands down the best in The Woodlands. The bar was packed on a recent Tuesday night, indicating the popularity of their specials. The Florida stone crab is their specialty, and it is fabulous. Get there before mid-May so you can enjoy the season. Cracked perfectly so you don’t have to work, they are melt in your mouth goodness. On a recent night, they also had some amazing briny sweet cold water oysters that were about the best I’ve had. They have a great menu of fish dishes, and they are cooked perfectly. The miso seabass is my favorite. They also have excellent steaks if seafood isn’t your thing. The ambience and experienced service make this one of the top restaurants in the area. It will be part of my regular rotation along with a nice stroll along the lake after dinner.
Truluck’s on The Woodlands Hughes Landing is a new dining experience combining excellent food with awesome atmosphere and views.
