PATRIOTIC SONGS RETURN TO THE FOUNTAINS AT THE WOODLANDS WATERWAY SQUARE

    Post Category: Community,Outdoor Events,Town Center — Michele Flory @ 2:10 pm

    The Woodlands Waterway Square

Grab the family and head over to The Fountains at Waterway Square in The Woodlands as the favorite gathering will once again dance to a variety of patriotic songs played throughout the July Fourth weekend.

Enjoy favorites such as “America the Beautiful,” “Proud to be an American,” “National Anthem,” “Seventy Six Trombones,” “Stars and Stripes Forever,” and “God Bless America” as booming water jets and colorful light displays amplify these patriotic classics.

Songs at The Fountains at Waterway Square will begin on Saturday, July 2, 2011 through Wednesday, July 6, 2011. The songs continue every 15 minutes from noon to 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays. During the holiday weekend, families will enjoy songs from noon to 11 p.m.

“Featuring patriotic songs at The Fountains at Waterway Square is just one of many ways The Woodlands embraces the sprit of American patriotism,” says Nick Wolda, President of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The Woodlands has become such a great place to celebrate our nation’s independence and we are excited to be involved in such great activities for our residents and visitors.”

Waterway Square, located along Lake Robbins Drive between Waterway Avenue and Woodloch Forest Drive, features a 120-foot long, 10-foot high stone water wall where ribbons of water flow down seven terraced levels to a lower pond with 20 cascade jets. The water wall is flanked by stairs and stepped water cascades, all leading to an upper fountain containing 80 jets and three boomer jets that shoot water up to 75 feet high. The water jets, waterfalls and cascades are designed to create a variety of displays and effects ranging from the subtle flow of water over a stone wall to dancing columns of water, to intense bursts of water shooting several stories into the air. Waterway Square features seven speakers on the upper level and 12 speakers on the lower level.

Popular Eateries The Counter and Salata are Coming to The Woodlands Market Street

Post Category: Community,Market Street — Michele Flory @ 7:09 am

    The Woodlands Market Street

The Woodlands Market Street continues to expand its offerings of sought-after restaurants as the two popular eateries, The Counter and Salata, prepare to open their doors to shoppers this summer.

Known for its make-your-own-burger concept, The Counter offers an extensive list of mouth-watering ingredients including soft-ripened Brie, roasted corn and black bean salsa, grilled pineapple and roasted garlic aioli, to name a few. The restaurant boasts more than 300,000 possible burger combinations! A variety of side dishes, plus spiked adult milkshakes and a full bar will also be found inside the industrial-designed restaurant.

The Counter will be located across from Z Gallerie on the west end of Market Street.

Just next door to The Counter will be Salata, Latin for “salad”. The fast-casual eatery takes a fresh spin on the traditional salad bar by offering salad servers who custom prepare salads or salad wraps for each guest. Diners can choose from over 50 different fresh ingredients, chicken cooked four different ways, various grilled seafood selections and over nine different house-made dressings.

The Woodlands Kicks Off Fourth of July Celebrations with Free Entertainment

    Post Category: Community,Market Street,Outdoor Events,Town Center — Michele Flory @ 6:59 am

    The Woodlands July 4 Events

Despite the potential cancellation of its fireworks show, The Woodlands has created a number of different ways to celebrate America’s Independence over the Fourth of July holiday.

Live concerts, a parade, and splash days are part of the overall outstanding lineup of activities in The Woodlands this Fourth of July. Due to historic drought conditions in The Woodlands and Montgomery County, The Woodlands Township will make a final determination of its fireworks show on Monday, June 27, 2011.

“Certainly, the drought is unfortunate from many different aspects,” said Nick Wolda, President of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau. “But the number one priority at this time is safety. With thousands of acres burning in the near areas, we believe it is in best interest not to exacerbate the possibility of a fire and keep The Woodlands Fire Department on full alert protecting the community.”
