    Carlton Woods in Creekside Park Village The Woodlands

    The Carlton Woods Sales Center will begin accepting reservations for 38 premier homesites in the gated community of Carlton Woods Creekside beginning this Thursday, March 22, 2007. Carlton Woods Creekside is the 500-acre expansion of Carlton Woods, located south of Spring Creek in Harris County in the Village of Creekside Park . Lots in the spring property release range in size from ¼ - 2+ acres, priced from the low $200's to $1.8 million. Homesites in four neighborhoods will be offered.

    StoneMark Builders Breaks Ground for The Villas in East Shore The Woodlands

    Stonemark Builders has begun construction of 25 villas featuring Italianate architecture in East Shore , the "Garden District" of The Woodlands Town Center . Six dramatic designs are being offered, priced from the $700's. The three-story townhomes include three or four bedrooms with large covered terraces, two- and three-car garages, and courtyard areas suitable for a summer kitchen, spa or outdoor pool. The homes range in size from 3,342-4,030 square feet. Each home is designed for installation of an elevator to service all three levels. All homeowners will receive a complimentary six-hour design consultation to assist with decorative selections. East Shore is a 260-acre enclave on the eastern edge of Lake Woodlands planned as a walkable environment within close proximity to the shopping, dining and entertainment along The Woodlands Waterway® in Town Center.

    Eddie Bauer Store in Market Street The Woodlands

    The Woodlands has recently announced that it will add an Eddie Bauer men's and women's apparel store, only the second in the Houston area. The Eddie Bauer store will be located in a new building across from Starbucks, formerly where Santa Claus was temporarily housed. In addition to opening the 5,000-square-foot Eddie Bauer store this fall, Market Street will convert three of its tenant spaces into new retailing concepts.

    Strong Commercial Activity Continues in The Woodlands

    With 428,362 square feet of positive absorption in 2006 per CoStar and the lowest vacancy rate of any market in the Houston area at 7.2%, The Woodlands continues to experience strong commercial activity, according to Dan Leverett , vice president, commercial for The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC) , developer of The Woodlands.

    Some of the new companies that made their entrée into The Woodlands in 2006 included Petroleum Wholesale, Smith Barney, Cargill, Foundry Networks, TFL and Newpark Resources . Three major companies - Tetra Technologies, Hughes Christensen and Huntsman - expanded their operations in The Woodlands.
